For the Gracious Hospitality Blog-A-Thon this week, we are supposed to talk about our favorite tearooms. I was thinking that I wouldn't know what to do since my favorite in this area closed up last year. Then I realized that I have one and even have pictures!
It's The Tuck Box in Carmel. We have been on a couple of anniversary trips there, so I've been there twice. What I liked is the charm of the outside, sitting outside and people-watching. It's a very simple, no-frills place - which means that my husband was willing to accompany me! He enjoyed the lunch. There aren't many choices, but they do have wonderful (and different) scones and good tea. Not the fanciest or the best, but a nice experience in a charming area.
If you are looking for more tea places in your area, I have found a directory that seems to include most of them, with pics, reviews, and even some coupons! It's called Teamap.com. If you haven't checked it yet, you can find out what tea places are closest to you.
Well, this makes me want to head out to tea somewhere...who's coming with me??
Lisa :)

Hi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little tea room. Don't you just love Carmel? It's like being transported into a fairy tale. My husband and I have been to Pacific Grove several times and always stop in a carmel. It's so peaceful.
Great post.
What a beautiful little tea house! So charming and quaint --- it looks like the perfect place for a real afternoon tea (as opposed to a place that you must dress up for and wear a fancy hat). I would love to have tea at the Tuck Box, Lisa. . .and wouldn't it be fun to go on a teamap trip and discover other wonderful tea places? Dreaming. . .

Oh that is a sweet looking spot for sure. The last time I was in Carmel was on my honeymoon in 1974! :) Maybe it's time for a little trip up the coast....
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm in heaven! That tea map has shown me a tea room not 20 miles away that has a live harpist! Say no more, I'm making plans n.o.w. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest little tea room. It reminds me of the cottage where the dwarfs lived in the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I would almost expect to happen upon it in the middle of a forest somewhere and sit down to tea. Grand!
ReplyDeleteOh, me, me! I want to go to Tea! The shop in Carmel looks very nice. Hmm, I can make it there in about 4 hours, on a good day.
ReplyDeleteThat tea house looks very charming.
ReplyDeleteI've used the tea map to find tea rooms in my area.
Wow, an invitation to tea! Count me in. That is a nice looking tea house. Tea is terrific!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so cute! When I go back over to that area I will definitely have to try it! Thanks for the Teamap tto, I will be looking up Fresno in it today! So now I am curious, how long were you in Fresno? I have lived most of my life here. Thanks for dropping by my blog!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Blogging! Jesus, family, Tea, and chocolate...how can you go wrong? So nice to come across your blog. Thanks for the Tea Map link!
