Tagged...6 Unimportant Things

I have been blessed with several lovely blogging friends. One of those friends is Rhonda at Scooterblu's Whimsy, who tagged me to share 6 unimportant things about myself. Rhonda's blog is so fun and decorative - be sure to stop by. I guess "unimportant" probably means "trivial", so I'll share some odd facts about myself. Here are the rules:

1) Link back to the person that tagged you.
2) Post the rules on your blog.
3) Share 6 unimportant things about yourself.
4) Tag other bloggers to participate, at the end of your entry.

Here goes...

1. I'll start with something that should be already obvious to you: I LOVE chocolate! I think you figured that out and maybe it's not such a trivial thing, but it is a fact about me!

2. I love the scent of vanilla! OK, that seems like it cancels out #1, but it actually complements it. It's not that I don't like the smell of chocolate, but as far as scents around the house - vanilla gives me that warm, comfortable feeling.

3. I have a bachelor's degree in Finance. What?? Where did that come from? It's true. It comes in real handy - like giving me feelings of guilt for not perfectly balancing the checkbook, or qualifying me to be the one to fill in the blanks in Turbotax.

4. I'm afraid of heights. Very afraid! Not sure why - I wasn't when I was 5...I climbed on big rocks in the country and sat on top of the roof while Dad worked on it (Umm...did my mom OK that??). Anyway, I start taking deep breaths and my legs shake so bad that I can't control them. The worst is using see-through stairs or narrow mountain trails with sheer drops. At the Grand Canyon, I couldn't go all the way to the railings at the edges - had to stay a few feet back.

5. I collect refrigerator magnets. Not just any magnets, but magnets from places - unique places that we go, cities and states that I've been to, and other countries. I don't require myself to have gone to the place, so people are always helping me out when they go somewhere new. Some of my husband's coworkers have brought me magnets from other countries that they've traveled to on business - so thoughtful!!

6. I can't even believe that I'm going to reveal this last one to you. No, it's not the brand of deodorant I use. Ready? Please don't stop coming to my blog after you read this! Here it is: In high school, I "lettered" in....Speech! Now you know why I turned out like this! :)

I hope you enjoyed finding out a few strange facts about me. As far as tagging other bloggers, I want everybody to participate! If you're reading this and you haven't done this before (or even if you have!), consider yourself tagged and let me know when you post about it! Inquiring minds want to know!

Hope I helped start your week with a smile. Have a blessed Monday!

  1. Lisa, Good Morning! Just when you think you know a person, they go and spring these things on you! LOLOL! Great post! Your degree is getting used as well as mine, huh? LOL! Well, my dad always said, you got it, no one can take it from you! LOL! I'm with you on the heights, too! Scared to death! It's not the going up, for me, but the coming down! ...and it gets worse with age! I'm even scared to climb the bleachers, when I attend Ash's games at school! I'm not going to even touch #6! LOL! Just kidding, that is really kind of neat, cause that is another of MY fears, public speaking!

So glad you participated, I feel like I know you so much better now! Count me in on the CD giveaway, if it isn't too late!
    Hugs, Rhonda

P.S. Our boys would get along great! I just noticed the legos "creation" in the picture with your son and the cake! Everytime I see legos at yard sales, I pick them up...and of course David gets sets for Christmas and B'days...and loves them! LOL! Tell your little man, I think his creation is wonderful and really cool! ;)

  2. SPEECH!!! Oh wow, I hated that class. I have a terrible Brooklyn accent and it made me so self conscious.

I did this tag already on my blog --it was fun!

  3. Alright you little stinker, I've been hoping to avoid being tagged, but I suppose it's a complement! I will blog mine tonight! By the way, vanilla is my favorite home fragrance as well!

  4. Hi, Lisa. Welcome to blogging. I relate to your 6 points, but esp. the one about see-through stairs. Who invented those, anyway? It's the worst idea ever!

  5. You think that's bad, I lettered in band. :P

I totaly agree about the vanilla. Yum!

  6. I am also terrified of heights, but for some reason, flying does not bother me.

And spiders. Definitely terrified of spiders.

  7. Yep, I can identify too with the fear of heights. And backless stairs--the worst! We used to have emergency drills at work where we had to use the stairs, backless stairs where you could see the whole way to the bottom floor. It usually took a friend on either side of me to get me to the bottom.
