Would You Like Chocolate With That? ~ Double Delicious Cookie Bars

Don't forget to link up your chocolate-themed post below. Remember, you can link up any chocolate-themed post (family-friendly only) - old, new, a recipe, a picture, chocolate thoughts or poems, favorite chocolate candy, etc. C'mon, I know you've got something! You can even dig through your archives (who hasn't discussed chocolate at some point?).

Once again, I see that I scared you with a difficult (not all that difficult when you break it down, just a long process) recipe last week, so here is a simple recipe for you - really!

These cookie bars are almost like candy and the recipe makes a bunch! The recipe came from a Borden ad years ago. Yum...yum...yum!

*Updated to add a pic!*

Double Delicious Cookie Bars

1/2 cup margarine or butter
1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 (12 oz) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup peanut butter chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (325 degrees F for glass dish). In 13x9 in. baking pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with chips; press down firmly. Bake 25-30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool. Cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature. Makes 24-36 bars.

That's it! I'm not sure that it could get any easier than that, so go for it!

Please do link up some chocolate below. I need some more to get through the weekend!

  1. Thanks for stopping by the blog. I'm going to have to try your recipe as well. I mean what's better than chocolate then peanut butter and chocolate.
    Stop by any time.
