Oh yummy - this one sounds good to me right now. I know you prefer the easiest recipes, but this has a nice rich chocolate flavor that you just might want to try. If you take it step by step, it's not that difficult - really!
Kahlua Cake
1 package chocolate cake mix
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1/2 cup warm water
1 (4-oz.) package instant pudding mix - chocolate (Or just use a cake mix with pudding in the mix and leave this out)
1/4 cup Kahlua
1 (12 oz.) package (or 2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Combine cake mix with sour cream, oil, eggs, warm water and Kahlua in large bowl; stir to blend. Then beat at high speed for 3 minutes. Stir in chocolate chips. Turn into a greased and floured 10-inch Bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes, or until cake tester comes out clean.
Glaze
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup Kahlua
1/2 teaspoon instant coffee
In a medium saucepan, over med.-low heat, stir all ingredients together until melted and smooth. While cake is still warm and in the pan, pour 2/3 of glaze over cake. Cool and invert onto cake plate. Pour remaining (rewarmed) glaze over top of cake.
And then cut it in half - you can have half and I'll take the other half to help you out. OK - I need some chocolate now. I do hope you'll try this one - yum!
Take a few minutes now or come on back and link up your chocolate post! Pull one from the archives or write a new one. It doesn't even have to be a recipe - could be pictures, poems, reasons why you like chocolate, a list of your favorite candy bars - anything related to chocolate as long as it's family-friendly! Can't wait to drool over some of your stuff...
Well I linked up my post on the wedding cupcakes. First photo you'll see is some chocolately goodness. Enjoy! :-)

ReplyDeleteOh wow that sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteLisa, ...Chocolate...Kahlua...it's got to be good! I will have to try it!
ReplyDeleteBoiled peanuts are a southern snack! LOL! But they don't involve chocolate, so you might not like them! LOL! You boil green peanuts right out of the field in salty water, until they are soft. They are so good! ...and are in season right now.
It is such a shame that all of the chips were not donated to a food bank or shelter. My aunt says they throw tons away all the time. My husband's office is in the same center as a bagel shop and they throw away huge trashbags of bagels! But you are right, I guess they have too in fear of lawsuits!
Hope you are having a great weekend! ~Rhonda :)
