Remember when I announced to you that I started an Etsy shop? It was called Pretty Potables. Well, not only did I not sell any of the baskets, but I was notified a few days ago that my baskets are not allowed on Etsy.
As a side note, I will tell you that I carefully researched Etsy policies, read supporting articles, and looked at other listings before concluding that gift baskets were considered homemade if you found the items and put it all together yourself. Apparently I was mistaken and have been told that gift baskets not containing any handmade items are not allowed. I think Etsy is a wonderful place and certainly did not want to do anything not complying with their policies!
So, I have 2 choices - either add handmade items to all the baskets or remove them. I am not able to come up with handmade ideas right now, so am in the process of removing the baskets. Some of them I will just keep and some I will list on ebay to see what happens.
Thank you for all of your wonderful, supportive comments and even promotions for the baskets! I am glad that I put them together and tried it. Just not meant to be, I guess. But I would never know if I hadn't tried, right?
Just wanted you all to know what happened with it and why the ad has disappeared from my sidebar.
Hope all of you are having a wonderful, relaxing weekend!!
I am sorry to hear about the failed effort. Like you said, it was worth a shot.
ReplyDeleteOh Bummer my friend. I hope you find a way to get those beautiful baskets out there so people can see them. They were awesome.

If you knew someone who say, knitted or sewed, (me cough, cough) then perhaps you could add a handmade dishcloth or a cozy or a trivet to the baskets and put them up again. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's terrible! I'm sorry about that! Maybe another time. It was a great idea! Maybe you could make up a few and put them in your side bar. You never know who might come across them and be interested.
