Good Times...

I had a nice time the last few days because my Dad came to visit! We enjoy his company and he is happy even if we don't do anything too exciting. We shopped a little, ate a lot, saw a movie (The Tale of Despereaux - cute), and visited.

But the best thing of all was watching him play Wii sports! We got a Wii as a family Christmas gift and are enjoying it. I even play some of the sports and I am not a big video game person (the only Playstation game I was ever good at was PaRappa The Rapper - if you know anything about it, that should give you a good laugh). My Dad is 78 and was not too afraid to give it a try. He played golf, tennis, and bowling. He got a little obsessed with the bowling I think and kept trying to improve his skill level. He even asked me on the phone last night where you can buy a Wii and how much they are! He lives where there is snow and ice and he can't golf at all in the winter, so he is always on the lookout for entertaining activities.

Wouldn't it be funny if he got one and secretly worked on his bowling so he could beat my son the next time he visits? I love it!

I hope that when I am my Dad's age, I will not be afraid to try new things and have a little fun.
