These bars were in my little Chocolate Lover's cookbook - such a great little book. Warning - these are quite yummy and you might have to eat more than one. It's like having a chocolate chip cookie bar, but with a subtle peanut butter flavor...mmmmm!
Um, that's my piece - where's yours?
Marble Bars
1/2 cup peanut butter (I even used all-natural PB in it)
1/3 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream peanut butter, butter, and sugars; add eggs. Add dry ingredients and vanilla, mixing well. Spread in greased 9x13-in. pan. Sprinkle chips over top. Bake for 5 minutes. Swirl chips through batter to create marble effect. Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
I just ask that you make extra for me! :) You should really try these out. Let me know what you think.
And now it's your turn! Please link up your chocolate posts with Mr. Linky below. You don't even have to create a new post. Go find an old one with chocolate in it and link it on up. You can get more info here. Help spread the yumminess!

ReplyDeleteThat does look really good. I could have used them last night as I was watching a very DEPRESSING football game. I think this is my favorite one of your recipes yet!

I'll be linking up for soup week! A warm and yummy idea for January, to be sure! I stole the button today and should get it up soon.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know I'm posting an old recipe that I posted before, but I am really in the mood for these!
ReplyDeleteThose do sound yummy! But you are right they do not sound diet friendly :o) That's ok. Neither was that donut I just enjoyed!
ReplyDeleteYummo!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I didn't think to link up my Chocolate Chip Cream Cheese Ball. LOL! Thanks for the suggestion. I just linked up, and did it to the specific post it was on. Next week sounds like a great week on your blog! I love soup! I will share some recipes Wednesday, and can't wait to see what others contribute!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
Oh, and your bars sound YUMMY!!!! I can't wait to try these. Of course it will have to be when company comes, cause I am on a diet and would be too tempted to eat the whole pan, alone! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLisa, I left you something on my blog. I can't wait to take part in your little event..what fun!
ReplyDeleteI bookmarked this recipe after I found your site a few days ago. Tonight I was looking through my recipes to find a snack for lunches to make, and came across the marble bars. I can't tell you how much my family LOVED these! Thank you so much for posting the recipe!!
ReplyDeleteOhhh delight! My Waybums is allergic to peanuts and so I've resorted to drooling over photos of peanut-butter goodness. This is the tastiest and most tempting looking peanut butter recipe I've seen in years. I'm gonna file it in my Someday Box...
ReplyDeleteNutella would be nice swirled in there
