German Apple Cake
Beat until fluffy: 2 large eggs
1 cup oil
Add: 2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Whip ingredients together.
Add: 2 cups flour
3 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups sliced apples (I use Granny Smith)
Mix ingredients together and put into a greased 9x13 pan. Heat oven to 325 degrees F for a glass pan or 350 for a metal pan. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour - toothpick should come out clean. Cool and frost.
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
Beat together: 1- 8 oz. package cream cheese
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar
(Enough to frost one 9x13 cake.)
Frost cake. Store in refrigerator.

ReplyDeleteThat cake looks luscious. It seems to be similar to carrot cake, which I like, but never make because I hate grating carrots (even with a food processor). Slicing apples is so much easier! I'm looking forward to the fun of cake week :)

ReplyDeleteGerman apple cake *smile* I will give this recipe a try but , hope you don’t mind, will leave out the frosting. Over here in German we usually do not have your kind of frosting on our cakes - I love my apple cake with lots of crumbles.

ReplyDeleteOh Lisa, your video is just too cute. It appears you have put a LOT of work into making your video so i can on imagen what you have done to prepare us for the rest of the week. If you wrote a script, you did GREAT. You caught my attention and kept it the whole 4+ minutes, I love your smile, your voice, everything was great. I know I am not suppose to critique your video, but I just had to tell you how impressed I am. Your flow was smooth, no stall words, no stuttering, are you a pro and just have not told us??? Are you a news reporter? Well I could smell the cakes from there...thanks for putting so much effort into your blog. Here's to a WONDERFUL week.
