The White House might not be observing National Day of Prayer, but I am! :)
I'll start the day at my son's Christian school, gathered around the flagpole with other parents, students, staff, and pastors to sing and pray. We're so blessed that our son goes to a school where he can participate in that! And we are blessed to live in a country where we are free (mostly) to pray. Then I'll be spending part of the afternoon in prayer.
Now, don't get me wrong - we should not be praying just on this one day. We should pray like this every day! The Lord wants us to pray without ceasing.
Please consider praying today for our country and our leaders, and if you live in a different country, you can pray for your country (but will you please pray for ours too?) and your leaders. We should also pray for families most affected by the economy and recent natural disasters. If you are not a Believer, then I am also praying for YOU - that the Lord will open your heart and mind and draw you to Him. The list of things to pray for is so long. Many of you have personal prayer requests.
If you feel led to share a prayer request, please give your requests in the comments on this post. I would be happy to pray for you today my friends and ask that you would also pray for those that do share. My specific requests would be: to pray for family members - that the Lord works in their hearts and gives them mercy, grace and strength; and to pray for my son's Christian school - that the Lord would continue to find ways to provide for them so they can continue a wonderful ministry.
Thank you for joining me today my friends!
Matthew 18:20
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
Have a blessed prayerful day and I will see you back here tomorrow for a much-needed Chocolate Friday!
This post just showed up right before my lunchbreak (I live in Germany - we are 6 hours ahead of you). You encouraged my to spend this break in the nearby church, praying for family, friends (including you), my and your country.

ReplyDeleteOh and to answer your question on the Cappuccino Smoothie, you don't even taste the banana. It's mainly for adding thickness to it. So I'd still give it a try.
Love you my friend.
Big second comment today size hugs to you.
AMEN!!! Although our president and our country may try to deny it, we are a Christian nation, founded on the very principle of prayer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for addressing this. We should pray everyday, but today my prayer focus is for our country.
GOD bless America.
Went to the city hall in the city where I work along with 2 co-workers. We were the only 3 gathered there. It was a precious time, though.
ReplyDeleteHubs went to our local city hall where we live. It was only himself and 1 other woman there.
