What I'm thinking: That we really should have already made our plans for the 4th of July, but we haven't yet! If I need to cook, it's gonna have to be easy!
What I'm reading: Started reading Tell Your Time by Amy Lynn Andrews. Looks like a very helpful book! Also read a good guest post at the Allume blog that you might enjoy {by Mary Beth from New Life Steward}: When "Real" Becomes a Problem.
What I'm listening to: Just the air conditioning running. Rather quiet here at the moment because kiddo went to the swimming pool with friends. But earlier - he was making LOTS of annoying noises because he downloaded some game that requires you to record noises for each character and then plays them back at the same time. L.O.L. Ah -
What we're learning: That we need some sort of schedule which we still don't have! Kiddo is learning a lot at his tennis classes - so fun to watch him improving!
What I'm watching: Instant Netflix was out Friday night due to storms, so we searched our collection of DVDs. Always hard to find something as we either feel like we just watched it or the 3 of us can't agree! But we found Gods and Generals and started watching it. It really is an excellent movie. And we rented John Carter over the weekend - I knew that it was over-promoted and flopped in the theaters, but thought it might be good since we had no expectations and we like sci-fi/action movies. It was OK. Not too terrible, but not great either.
What's cooking: Nothing super-exciting this week {that I know of yet - LOL}! But for our church potluck yesterday, I made Kickin' Chicken Chili, Apple and Carrot Salad, and Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Cake {oh yum}.
What I'm buying: Need to get a new Boy Scout shirt and pants for the kiddo because he refuses to quit growing! :)
What I'm thankful for: I'm thankful for all the things we can do online! I was able to research hotels, read reviews, compare rates, and then make reservations all online - so nice and easy!
What I'm creating: Hopefully a clean and comfortable home and a better blog. :)
What I'm planning: Working on our vacation plans since it is coming up soon. Gotta make sure everything is all planned out ahead of time. Have you gone on any fun trips yet?
What we did this last weekend: We went to the park for a baseball game with a few Boy Scouts. It was fun, but they were short of players so all the moms were playing too. I tried to get out of it since I prefer to run away screaming if a ball is coming toward me. But alas, they forced me to play - I did hit the ball both times up to bat - woo hoo! LOL. Sunday we had church and then our monthly church potluck - lots of good food, but so much dessert!! I *had* to sample the different cakes! :)
What I'm looking forward to: Hubs being off on the 4th, so we can hang out together no matter what we end up doing. Also looking forward to a new blog design, which is currently in the works!
A picture to share:
The Fresh Strawberry Yogurt Cake {from A Spicy Perspective} I made - so so yummy! A great cake for Summer!
What are your plans this week? Anything fun planned for Independence Day?
Have a blessed and wonderful day friends!
That cake looks delish! And that is so funny that you got suckered into playing in a baseball game - good job hitting the ball! And vacation plans are fun! All we have planned this summer is our family reunion and church camping trip.
ReplyDeleteFridays are just not going to be the same without you. :-(
This is a great way to put down your thoughts. If I blog again I might have to join in.
ReplyDeleteThat cake looks so good and I can't wait to see your new design. Are you doing it yourself? I think if my blog were a little more user friendly it would help but then again maybe it wouldn't. LOL!
Big your movie dilemma sounds like our movie dilemma size hugs to you!
Thank you so much for the shout out! You are too sweet!
ReplyDeleteI am going to have to remember this Monday Musings for when I can't come up with a Monday post. Seems like those are the hardest days to get writing for.
I also prefer to run away from flying balls. For some reason, coaches always thought this was a great reason to make me catcher. The umps ended up catching the balls for me. Or at least knocking them down so I didn't have to traipse all the way to the fence to fetch it. haha!
